• City Sports Development Office Taekwondo Program
Background
This Taekwondo program aims to develop potential Taekwondo athletes in the grassroots level and produce future champions to represent our City in local, national and international competitions.

This FREE Taekwondo training for Dasmarineño kids 7-12 years old started August 2009. Since then we discovered and trained a great number of participants from different Barangays all over the City.The training is held every Saturday in Brgy San Mateo and every Sunday in Brgy San Agustin 3 from 9am to 12nn.

The program is also a registered chapter of the Philippine Taekwondo Association which then have its name as the City of Dasmariñas Taekwondo Club. This means that our chapter and our students are eligible to participate in any PTA sanctioned events.

Promotion test is also part of the program. This is a practical examination wherein the students demonstrate all the lessons learned for their belt degree. Promotion test is held regularly and also serves as their rank promotion in the PTA.
• City Sports Development Office BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL SPORTS TRAINING PROGRAM
Rationale
During the early 90’s,under the incumbency of former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino, concurrent with the creation of the Philippines Sports Commission, the government launched the “SPORTS FOR ALL” program under the so- called Decade Of Physical Fitness and Sports. The program aims to provide opportunity for all interested individuals to engage in all sort of sports activities. In connection with this, almost all schools, local government sports units and sports clubs initiated various sports program in order to enhance talent development in different sports area for future use not only for local competition but also for the international scene as well. Different basic skills in different sports activities were introduced into the school curriculum and likewise into the different sports program of local government unit. Because of sufficient human resources funding, facilities and equipment, we have produced great sports talents who have proven themselves not only in the local scene but also in the international sports arena.
Objectives
For these reasons, the Sports Development Office of the City of Dasmarinas , Cavite initiated different sports program through the initiative of then Mayor now Congressman Elpidio “Piddy” Barzaga. Later on the program was continued by his wife, the very energetic City Mayor, Jennifer Austria Barzaga. The different sports programs aims to:
1. Provide all Dasmariñenos the opportunity to engage in wholesome sports activity;
2. Give the youth alternative activities which would benefit themselves;
3. Develop camaraderie among players; and
4. Improve self-discipline and character through sports.

This year, after coordination with various interested groups, we have finally started training at the Paliparan 3 National High School softball grounds with different training schedules for different participants involved.
Through softball and baseball, the coordinators intend to keep kids off the streets and make them useful Dasmarineños who stay away from drugs and other illegal activities. As per instruction of the SDO Head, Mr. Ernesto C. Saliva, training of these kids for softball started last April 2009 in Pansol Softball ground. The training continued until before the beginning of the 2010 Inter-Barangay Sportsfest.
